Oskar Koliander – Margaret’s Blanket

10-27 June, 2021

The combined video- and sound installation Margaret’s Blanket is named after the computer scientist Margaret Hamilton who was responsible for programming the flight control software of the Apollo program. The installation represents constellations of light reflections of thousands of regularly spaced satellites in SpaceX’s Starlink network – and the stories that these patterns of “new stars” might form across the night sky.

Oskar Koliander (DK/SE, 1986) is a Copenhagen-based artist and sculptor. He holds an MA in Sculpture from The Royal College of Art in London and an MFA in Visual Art from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Art in Copenhagen. His work is an investigation into the conditions of belonging in a globalised and technologized world. He looks at changes in technology, politics, climate, and economy, and how these changes affect us, as individuals and as a society.
